  • How to Keep Suction Cup Feeders on Windows

    2010/12/13 www.ehow.com

Suction cup feeders can be useful in bringing birds right up to your home or for suspending a food or water dispenser in a pet's glass tank. Still, it can be tricky to get them to stay in place. If the feeders fall, they can cause a mess or break. The proper approach to sticking the suction cups to glass can save you this trouble and only takes a couple of minutes to master.

  • 1

Clean the glass thoroughly using window cleaner and paper towels. Removing dirt will help the suction cup cling more tightly.

  • 2

Wet the side of the suction cup that clings to the glass.

  • 3

Spray the glass with window cleaner or soapy water for a second time, making it moderately wet. The idea is to stick the suction cup to a clean, wet surface in order to form a tighter seal when the surface dries.

  • 4

Stick the suction cup feeder to the glass firmly. The feeder will now be clinging to the glass and you can move your hands.

  • 5

Straighten out the feeder so it's level, and wipe off the remaining water and window cleaner

Not using water, window cleaner, or soapy water will make it easier for the suction cup to come undone, increasing the possibility of failure.
